Tech Donations: Free Geek

The mission at Free Geek is “to sustainably reuse technology, enable digital access, and provide education to create a community that empowers people to realize their potential.”

The EPA estimates that only 27% of e-waste is recycled nationally and we can all see that the pace of our digital world is getting faster each year. Free Geek helps to bridge the gap between digital turnover and environmental sustainability. They accept donations of computers and other electronics at both their Portland and Vancouver locations. From there, they test and repair anything they can and ethically recycle what they can not. Not only do they responsibly reuse the waste and equipment they are donated, they also give back to the community by offering free computers in exchange for community service hours and providing community classes on digital skills.

You can learn more about the many ways to get involved with Free Geek here.

Happy Donating!
